At its simplest level, Sports Law is nothing more than the application of normal legal principles to sports situations. But all too often the reality is that the sports context means those principles are applied differently, taking account of the nuances, the tradition, and the expectations of the individual sport itself. It takes a sportsman's experience combined with the lawyer's knowledge to form the team that can produce the best possible result for either the individual sports client or the regulatory or commercial client involved with sports.
